We acknowledge that we live in a world of profound social, economic,
and political inequities. As followers of Jesus, we commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice and pledge to stand
in solidarity with all who are marginalized and oppressed.
Our Story
University United Methodist Church is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural progressive Christian congregation, welcoming our surrounding community and its diversity.

We are a certified United Methodist Reconciling Congregation and welcome all to worship with us. We are here to invite, nourish and equip all in becoming disciples for Christ for the transformation of the world ‘by uniting the two so long divided – knowledge and vital faith’.
University United Methodist Church was started in 1948 as a small community of faculty and staff, dedicated to creating a faith community that would provide a church environment for students and the surrounding community. From our past to our present, we continue to work to that purpose. This church is as uniquely placed now as it was then, to stand and proclaim that vital faith and intellectual curiosity are not in competition. They, in fact, complement each other and are faithful pursuits of knowing God.
